Project Overview

Client
Rushable is a revolutionary and rapidly growing SaaS startup that offers local restaurants everything they need to maximize and monetize their online presence, the service potentially saves local restaurants and dinners $2M/year.

Role and Accomplishments
As a part-time member of the design team, here are my accomplishments:

  • Design an online ordering platform to help clients expand the user base from B2B to B2C enterprise users.

  • Revamped the UI design system and component libraries of the B-side management system.

  • Improve the UX design of the restaurant’s management system.

Due to the terms of the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), I cannot disclose specific project design details.
However, I can provide a general overview of the types of projects I've been involved in.

Where restaurants connect and diners save

1.Restaurant ordering platforms

To help restaurant clients get better customer acquisition, Rushable needed an ordering platform.
The design portion of this project was entirely my responsibility, from user research to the first iteration after high-fidelity design.

Specifically, the work is as follows:

  • Divided product logic according to requirements

  • Conducted user research and competitor analysis to identify product differentiators

  • Designed solution and information architecture

  • Created wireframes and performed initial usability testing

  • Executed visual design, producing two versions of visual style

  • Developed prototypes, including two styles of login pages along with their mobile versions

  • Conducted user testing, collected user feedback, and made iterations based on AB testing and first impression testing

2. UI Design system and Component Libraries revamp

Standardize the design language to enhance design efficiency.

When I joined the team, the design team was in the midst of a UI system upgrade. This upgrade involved updating the component library using Figma's Auto-layout functionality.

The following updates and improvements were made:

  • The design system and component library were updated with new and modified components, and previous design files were revised to align with the updated design.

  • Over 100 past design files were redesigned to meet the new design standards, enhancing their adaptability to automated responsive design.

  • Support the onboarding of new designers.

Dividing and simplifying complex system tasks.

3. Restaurant Management System on Tablet

The client uses tablets to provide management system services to restaurant customers. In this project, I was responsible for the user experience design, along with the associated interface design and optimization.

  • Reviewed the complete user journey of existing restaurant management systems and identified dozens of pain points.

  • Carried out user research through interviews and competitor analysis, which helped identify new needs and establish a direction for improvement.

  • Designed and tested user interface prototypes for several key scenarios.

Through this project, I gained invaluable insights into the restaurant industry's unique needs and challenges. Using a tablet-based management system, we were able to streamline operations and provide a more efficient and user-friendly service

My experience with the Rushable team has been invaluable.

It exposed me to various platforms, solutions, and product designs catered to different users—such as on-premise management software, B-side management software, and customer-facing product designs. I was able to apply my prior experience with restaurant users to these projects. I found the fast-paced nature of a startup environment enjoyable. The skills and experience I gained through this project have equipped me to take on similar challenges in the future, and I look forward to bringing these insights to my next role.
